The book is very good, but I agree with a comment that appeared on the blog pennmachine in that it is not as complete or succinctly as Why Evolution is True by Jerry Coyne and as fun as Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin . However, all three have been a great tribute to the bicentenary of Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his theory.
One of the funniest asides Dawkins book is the description a response that apparently gave JBS Haldane received to a question after a lecture:
"skeptical evolution: Professor Haldane, even considering the billions of years that you. said have been possible for evolution, I just I can not believe you can move from one cell to the complex human body with its trillions of cells organized in bones and muscles and nerves, a heart that pumps continuously for decades, miles and miles blood vessels and renal tubules and a brain capable of thinking and talking and feeling.
JBS : But Madame, you yourself did. And it only took nine months ... "
